This wildflower journal has been made sustainably using an old, discarded book found in a secondhand store, flowers that I have collected during the fall, spring and summer, the black beads are from an old necklace and the glass beads used are made from recycled glass. All of the vintage lace used was found in secondhand stores and I hand dyed them using natural dyes from avocados (a beige pink), onion skins (orange)and dandelion flowers (yellow). I use a plant-based sealant to decoupaged the pressed flowers. And milk paint was used to paint over the written pages to turn them into blank pages. The vintage lace on the spine has been dyed in avocados, and a jute lace was added to the side on the front cover. The front cover is the original cover to book. No glues have been used; plant sealant has been used in place of glues and lace is sewn on.
Included are small pocket folders in this book, a found cleaned feather, old flower mini stickers, a vintage post card, decorated paper clips, mini safety pins holding beads, bits of old jewelry pieces, my handmade papers and music notes from an old choir book. Edges were done in brown watercolor.
All this has been put together with much thought to sustainability and lots of love for a special person to gift to or gift to yourself.
